Northeast Bank Supports District Exchange With Clothing Drive

Bethel, ME
June 18th, 2012

BETHEL – Northeast Bank announced today that it has partnered with the District Exchange in an effort to help collect clothing for individuals and families in need.  By accepting clothing donations at its Bethel branch, the Bank is pleased to provide the District Exchange with a new drop-off location.  The Bank now accepts clothing donations at its 11 Main Street branch anytime Monday – Wednesday from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm, Thursday and Friday from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm and Saturdays from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm.  Since introducing the drop-off boxes, the Bank has already made several trips with clothing donations from local community members.

“By establishing a permanent drop-off location for the District Exchange, we are striving to encourage additional clothing donations via a convenient location,” said Lorena Tyler, Assistant Branch Manager.  “Our customers have been extremely responsive, dropping off a variety of clothing items and promoting the new drop-off service to their friends and families.”

While the need for clothing is year-round, the District Exchange has strong demand for transitional clothing in the Spring and Summer months, which are often overlooked. “We are grateful to Northeast Bank for their support of our clothing assistance efforts,” said Betsy Foster, Director of the District Exchange.  “By accepting donations during normal banking hours, the Bank is allowing local community members to drop off clothing on their schedule.”
