Northeast Bank Provides Additional Assistance to Lewiston Fire Victims

May 3rd, 2013

Donates $1,000 to supplement the cost of housing for the fire victims

Northeast Bank announced today a donation of $1,000 to the American Red Cross to support their effort in assisting with the cost of housing individuals who were displaced after their homes were destroyed in Mondays’ fire. Without this donation, as of Thursday morning, the displaced residents would have been without temporary shelter or housing.

“The donation from Northeast Bank has been nothing short of a miracle,” said Jennifer Gaylord, Branch Manager, United Valley, American Red Cross. “This year we have nearly tripled the number of individuals we serve and could not have afforded the cost of the hotel rooms for another night.”

“We have been involved in this effort from the beginning, but we felt we needed to do more,” said Jim Delamater, President and CEO of the Northeast Community Banking Division. “Lewiston is our home and we will do everything we can to support it. With the support of our employees, we are continuously increasing our charitable giving and volunteerism within our community.”

Northeast Bank branches will continue to collect donations for the victims. Below is a complete list of locations:
