Northeast Bank Contributes $5,000 to Kennedy Park Bandstand Project

Lewiston, ME (October 10, 2014) ‒ Northeast Bank announced today a $5,000 donation towards the restoration of the historic bandstand in Lewiston’s Kennedy Park, which was originally built in 1868.  A groundbreaking event is scheduled for Tuesday, October 14, 2014 for those who have contributed to the restoration efforts.

“We are proud to support such an important and historically significant landmark in the Lewiston-Auburn community” said Jeanne A. Hulit, President of the Community Banking Division. “It is our hope that our contribution will further the efforts of the Restoration Committee and help create a space where residents and visitors alike can enjoy what our community has to offer.”

The Kennedy Park Bandstand Restoration Committee, responsible for the project, was formed in 2013 with a goal of reviving the historic bandstand as a destination for local arts and cultural events.
